EpicFortniteâs second week of challenges is launching just a couple days after the first week, which is because of the very odd launch of Chapter 2, season 1, technically season 11, which turned the game off for two days with it just coming back online Tuesday morning. New challenges launched when it came back, and now more are launching today, Thursday, as we get back on a normal release schedule. But the week 1 challenges arenât going anywhere, and you still have all season to complete them.
Go here to see where to find hideouts. Go here to see where to find the letter O in the loading screen.
This weekâs challenges are called Open Water, and have to do with acutallyâ¦.not any of the new water aspects of the season like fishing or swimming or boats. Rather, there are a few challenges that have to do with hiding, and then the rest are actually pretty generic. Hereâs the full list:

EpicSo, here in this new season, there are no longer Prestige challenges that are harder versions of the first batch of challenges. But there are 11 challenges in all here, and I feel like they kind of get harder as you unlock them and go down the list. Each challenge gets you 14,000 XP, and finding the letter works toward unlocking the seasonâs secret legendary skin in eight weeks.
This week, I am sure that at least some players will struggle with sniper kills, especially now with few sniper options with the Heavy Sniper and Auto Sniper removed. Remember you can execute downed enemies with a sniper and it counts.
A lot of these challenges involve hiding in hideouts, which are new objects on the map you can hide inside sort of like a bush, but without being able to move. Theyâre haystacks, trees, bushes, etc. We have a guide for what those look like here, and where to find them.
Other than that, these are pretty generic. If you havenât discovered all the new zones yet, you will have to do that in order to complete the new location challenges. I would just pick a new batch of question marks per game and land there until you find them all. That will also help you complete challenges from the Tuesday week 1 batch if you havenât yet.
So yeah, a bit of a boring week and I still donât understand why the Open Water challenges donât have to do with water at all, but here we are.
