‘Fortnite’ Chapter 2: The Tier 100 Battle Pass Skin Comes With A Twist

Every Battle Pass has a theme here in Fortnite, and has ever since the Fort Knights way back in Season 2. The theme is usually only represented through the design of the skins themselves, however: the mechanics for how they’re presented usually remain mostly the same. We’re shaking things up this time, because we’re shaking everything up here in Chapter 2. Every battle pass skin has an evil alter ego, which you unlock through completing missions: you can check them all out here. All of them, that is, except one.

The Tier 100 skin this time around is called Fusion, and the whole idea is that he’s both evil and good in one: the perfect balance, you could say. He has sort of a Ninja aesthetic and fave made of mysterious void energyâ€"check him out below:

There are unlockable styles, of course, though they’re just straightforward palette swaps: the white clothing option definitely represents the biggest change, and I could see myself rocking this:

He’s a fine one: better than Ultima Knight, which was one of the most left-field Tier 100 skins we’ve had in a while. Fusion is a little more streamlined, and he reminds me a little bit of Luxe back in Season 8 for some reason.

In my estimation, Ragnarok was still the best of all the Tier 100 skins, and I wish that the designers would give us something with such a dramatic transformation again. Vendetta sort of transformed, but mostly he only turned from a lame dude to a lame dude in some armor.

So that’s what you’re grinding towards here in Chapter 2, Season 1, though it shouldn’t take quite so much timer as it did in the past. I was able to snag 3 battle pass tiers in my introductory match, and that was without ever successfully landing a shot on another player, though I did wind up in second somehow. We’ll see if that progression slows down as we move towards the end of the list, but I’m a huge fan of making it so Battle Pass progression isn’t essentially dependent on challenges only.
